Maaha everyone!! (good afternoon in Twi..im going to force myself to learn some of this language...i cant stand not being able to communicate sometimes!) Not too much exciting has happened the past couple of days...lets see, we just got running water this morning after going 4 days without it...that's probably the most exciting news i have for you all at this point. Let me tell you, i have become more and more grateful for the ability to have running water back home 24/7!  Yesterday i went in to the hospital and saw two patients who had epilepsy, one boy and one girl.  This was a really difficult thing to witness for me as one had quite severe mental disabilities while the other patient had severe physical disabilities and difficulty speaking.  However, they were both such happy and outgoing kids!  The little boy asked what my name was and when i told him he got so excited because his favorite football team is Chelsea!!  After the hospital, i went to my Friday class that was rescheduled for Tuesday...when i got there, my friend told me the professor wasn't showing up, that it was posted at the department. So, why even have a makeup lecture i ask?! Anyway, I was productive with this time and headed to the vegetable market and then Shoprite (grocery store at the mall).  Luckily and surprisingly, we caught both tro tros VERY quickly, normally it can take 40mins+.  Unfortunately our luck ran out with catching a tro tro easily when we tried to head back to the campus from the mall.  We were at the bus stop waiting for over a good hour, running back and forth with all our bags, attempting to shove our way on to a tro tro.  I can only imagine how hilarious this must have looked to everyone else around as 3 obrunis ran back and forth trying to catch one.  Finally, it was getting late and we were about to just break down and ask a taxi to take us back, when a huge bus pulled up.  We ran up and got on, we didn't even question if it would stop at Legon until we were already on it...luckily it did and it was as cheap as a tro tro ride! It was equivalent to a city bus back home.  We then went to Terrific Tuesday at Pizza Inn by our school where you buy one pizza and get one free on Tuesdays.

Today the weather has been sooooooooooo lovely! It has been raining off and on since this morning and is overcast with a nice breeze! Such a nice change from the miserable heat yesterday.  In class this morning i met a couple of new friends.  I was shocked when one ghanaian girl sparked up a conversation with me asking if i lived in ISH (international student hostel) as she was looking for someone to go jogging with.  I told her i didn't and that i havent exercised here since im having a problem with my knee...I wish i could run because this would be a great way to make a ghanaian girl friend (like i said before...theyre hard to make as friends!).  The other person was a guy, of course whats new...they all want to be your friend here! I think i mentioned in a previous post about how before most of my classes, a student will go up to the front of class and preach to the class? Well, a girl did that today and so he was asking me if where i come from people do that in my school.  I explained to him no how there is a separation of religion and school, unless you attend a religious school.  He seemed quite shocked by this! Well, my only other update is that i have definitely put on some weight since i arrived here almost 2 months ago (wow time flies)...therefore, everyone can rest assured that i am NOT starving by any means here!! Mah Krow!
